The INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRAND AWARDS 2017 is the most cognized listing of the 100 India’s famous fastest growing brands that have played a significant role in the success of the country, and have unambiguously unveiled themselves as the next set of game changers serving through their various consumer-facing businesses.
With a spotlight on innovation, international scalability, differentiation and strategic investment to the Indian economy, the INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRAND Awards celebrates the success of India’s fastest growing brands. Top 100 India’s Most Trusted Brands survey is based on the opinions of the Indian consumers. Consumers across India in more than 20 cities were then asked, via a physical survey conducted by Media Research Group(MRG), to “vote for the brands that they trusted most” to best reflect the people’s choice. 1,15,732 votes were collected and 100 of the leading brands of India categorized into 82 industry segments ranked during 1st Oct to 10th Oct 2017.
India’s Most Trusted Brands is a by invitation only project. Your brand gets eligible for the invite-only after a most comprehensive research conducted by the Media Research Group (MRG), finds you as one of India’s Most Trusted Brands.

Selection Process

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY & SELECTION CRITERIA FOR INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRAND AWARDS:
Brands shortlisted based on the research could not necessarily be selected based on sales/turnover/profits of the brand. Selection could also be based on overall quality, features, pricing, discounts, aftersales service, reputation & other such factors of the brand. Most important thing is that these brands have worked hard to win consumers trust. We follow the most transparent and authentic process of selecting brands. It is the largest multi-format research-based brand platform in India.
The entire research platform was divided into the following levels:-
Level 1: The First level of research was initiated by generating a list of about 1000 brands from all states of India across the service and infrastructure sectors and 82 subcategories were drawn up through secondary research using physical surveys via market studies and category specific brand reports. The list of institutions was prepared using existing listings, rankings and other research reports and available sources.
Level 2: The preliminary list of 1000 brands was scrutinized on a scale of 1 to 10 (where 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest) and thoroughly examined by our research team on the parameters of Brand Image, Brand Growth, Brand Identity, Brand Leadership, Brand Value, Brand Impact, Brand Innovation, Brand Trust, and Brand Equity. The questionnaire explored the above-mentioned parameters and took further into account the national presence and USP of the brand.
Based on the above parameters, the Media Research Group team shortlisted the list of 200 brands to be INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRANDS under the purview of the survey.
Level 3: The list of 200 brands with the above parameters was sent to a panel of eminent jury members to be rated on a scale of 1 to 10.
Final Level: The final list of INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRANDS was based on cumulative scores received by the jury, editorial team and consumer votes received through surveys.

Research

A brand is one of the most valuable assets of a company. From a financial point of view, a brand can be worth dozens of times the company’s book value. This fact makes brand management indispensable. And in managing a brand, we certainly cannot ignore measurements and benchmark. The INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRAND will apply the brand strength indicator called the MOST TRUSTED BRAND Index (MTB).
MOST TRUSTED BRAND Index is formulated based on 3 variables: Mindshare, Market Share, and Commitment Share. The first variable, Mindshare, indicates a brand’s strength inside the minds of the consumers of a respective product category. Market share shows a brand’s strength in a certain market in terms of consumers’ actual buying behavior. The third variable, commitment share, indicates a brand’s strength in encouraging consumers to buy that brand in the future.
To determine the value of the three variables, MOST TRUSTED BRAND uses 3 parameters: top of the mind awareness (the first brand mentioned by respondents when they hear the product category), last used (the last brand used/consumed by respondents in 1 re-purchase cycle), and future intention (the brand that the respondents intend to use/consume in the future).The value of each parameter that a brand in a particular product category possesses is determined by calculating the percentage of frequency of the brand, relative to the frequency of all brands.
In turn, the MTB is determined by calculating the weighted average of each parameter. MTB measures a brand within the market or industry, which are the most recognized by the consumer. The positive impacts are proven through increased word of mouth, which is costless advertising and highly effective compared to other methods of promotion.
INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRAND did a survey conducted among a select group of more than 1 Lac’s respondents across India including Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Delhi/NCR. The respondents, comprising the general consumer of different income groups for B2B and B2C brands, are asked to select brands based on all of the above said parameters.
A structured questionnaire is formulated, randomly (using simple random sampling). The respondents are asked to rate each brand on a scale of 1 to 5, on the parameters including Brand recall, Brand trust, Brand potential, Brand sustainability, Brand initiatives and Brand value. The total gained scores are calculated, and the INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRAND is then shortlisted.
Furthermore, the analysis provides an added value to organizations, especially in the decision-making process. The process of data collection is done via random surveys with a purpose to calculate the penetration level of a brand. The Random method allows decision makers to have an extensive vision of the market in an industry. MOST TRUSTED BRAND Index also acts as a benchmarking tool to set an evolving standard in a dynamic market. Based on the basis of brands selected as per these parameters as a result of consumer survey throughout India, 50 top brands were shortlisted as the INDIA’S MOST TRUSTED BRAND.
